TEMPORARY SOCIAL WORKER / ATTENDANCE COUNSELLOR

Position Title: Temporary Social Worker / Attendance Counsellor
Start Date: As Soon As Possible
Rate of Pay: $50.85 - $63.09 per hour plus 4% vacation pay

POSITION SUMMARY: The Social Worker / Attendance Counsellor provides direct social work services to students and parents including counselling, agency referrals and other interventions that address the underlying social, emotional, family, peer and learning issues that create barriers to learning.  The incumbent also performs the duties of an Attendance Counsellor as outlined in the Education Act of Ontario.

QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE: A Four (4) Year University Degree in social work and current registration with the Ontario College of Social Workers.  A minimum of one (1) year experience in a community agency or school Board setting providing counselling services to children and families, preferably in a role providing legally mandated services.


The recruitment process requires a criminal background check for work with vulnerable persons.
