Western engages in extensive hiring of staff positions each year across our decentralized campus.  You will play a critical role in ensuring Western is hiring the best possible talent, aligned with Western's vision and values, using a fair and rigorous process.
 
Supporting the Talent Acquisition team and the many hiring managers within the University, you will assist in the administrative work associated with the recruitment continuum.  This includes preparing postings using our applicant tracking system, scheduling interviews, completing references and providing guidance and support to leaders with sourcing strategies and assessment methods. Additional responsibilities can include project participation and co-ordination, process improvement, assisting with meetings and presentations, data management and statistical compilation, and responsive client communication.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   Undergraduate degree is required;
-   Completion or working towards your CHRL designation is preferred
 
Experience:
-   2 years in a professional role including experience in recruitment & selection, preferably in a unionized environment
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-   Strong client service skills and ability to quickly build positive and strong relationships
-   Excellent verbal and written communication skills
-   Strong influencing, judgement, and problem solving skills with confidence to  resolve issues in a professional and timely manner with all levels of the organization and with external stakeholders
-   Strong record of teamwork and collaboration, with the motivation and ability to work independently with little supervision
-   Strong organizational skills and ability to produce in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
-   Knowledge of relevant legislation pertaining to Human Resources
-   Intermediate proficiency with MS Office and demonstrated skill and ability to learn web based systems, databases, applicant tracking and applicant assessment systems
-   Ability to work in a manner that models best practices in confidentiality standards
