Presstran's lines of automotive stampings and welding assemblies are used in front motor compartments, underbody structures, truck frame components and front and rear suspensions as well as non-automotive applications
 
 
POSITION SUMMARY:
The Dimensional Coordinator performs CMM programming, fixture calibration, gauge layouts, GR&R, MSA studies, SPC analysis, part layouts and systems support for QA and other department requirements.
 
 
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
 
  1. Post-secondary education in a technical field and a minimum 3 years of related experience required (previous CMM programming experience is required as well).
  2. Must have strong background and experience in Automotive Manufacturing and Quality Assurance.
  3. Strong technical background and experience in metrology, GD&T, SPC, GR&R, fixtures and CAD is preferred.
  4. Ability to inspect and measure parts for conformance with specific dimensions, using precision measuring instruments such as Laser Scanning, CMM, Optical Comparator, Height Gauge, Micrometers, Thread Gauges, Fixtures, Microscopes, etc.
  5. Previous experience in software such as  Polyworks, NDI Scanning, Cognex Opti Cell, Geomajic an asset
  6. Must possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  7. Good reporting and computer skills in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, CAD, spread sheets, word processing software, etc.) are required.
  8. Must possess good mathematical skills, experience in geometry and trigonometry.
 
 
DUTIES:
1.         Ability to program Laser Scanner & CMM to accurately measure components, parts, fixtures etc.
2.         Ability to compare recorded measurements to blue print dimensions and tolerances.(Cad and GD&T)
3.         Strong organization skills.  Ability to schedule their own work to meet needs of their customers
4.         Ability/understands how to blue and scribe parts, generate CAD from scan data, provide tooling sketches for fixtures and perform part layouts
5.         Able to complete fixture calibration and gauge R&R Studies.
6.         Understands the requirements of MSA.  Responsible to ensure we meet all the requirements
7.         Able to certify all engineering changes and update fixture database and inspection programs
8.         Ability to create clear and concise technical reports.
9.         Understands and able to performs correlation studies
10.        Strong liaison skills. 
11.        Strong communication skills.  Able to provide standard reports for calibration status on routine basis
12.        Full understanding of SPC and use of statistical studies and reports.
13.        Logical and easy to retrieve/find record keeping..
14.        Understands 5s.  Exhibits good housekeeping practices
15.        Understands, participates and supports the CIES program (improvement program)
16.        Proficient in Microsoft Office, Windows, databases, spread sheets, word processing, AutoCAD, Mechanical Desktop, etc.
