On behalf of our client, a growing global production company, we are recruiting for a Corporate Human Resources Liaison- HR Director located in Windsor, ON.  
 
Windsor is located in South Western Ontario on the Canada/US border, across from Detroit Michigan, bordered by the Detroit River, Lake St. Clair and Lake Erie.  Being Canada’s southernmost point, the region boasts the warmest climate in all of Ontario.  The City of Windsor is comprised of residential, industrial, commercial, institutional, and rural areas along with a vibrant multicultural society with a growing population of 216,000. The County of Essex consists of seven municipalities with a population of 166,000.

The main role of the Corporate Human Resources Liaison will be to take responsibility for the Employee Relations team.  In this role, you will be the HR Lead and take ownership of senior HR decisions connected to the administration of the Human Resources department including polices, programs and practices as well as Human Resources planning, recruitment and selection, development and HRIS systems.
 
Overview of Responsibilities:
  • Act as the overall HR lead and oversee HR functions related to the facility
  • Ensure that all HR initiatives are supporting the local and global business objectives and priorities
  • Participate in and provide guidance and suggestions to the development of Human Resources strategies, initiative and policies
  • Consult and ensure the effective delivery of services to local leadership team, board partners and client.
  • Operate as the primary contact for the Leadership team on matters related to Employee and Labour relations and provide suggestions and advise to plant leadership.
  • Contribute to and participate in Human Resources planning and strategy meetings
  • Consul, provide and support VP,and Plant Director in forward thinking initiatives, and organizational changes
  • Work closely with Health & Safety, Ergonomics and Security teams to ensure safety and security of employees and visitors to the facility
  • Provide feedback and share information and knowledge with other Manufacturing Human resources and Health & Safety team members
Qualifications:
  • 10 + years’ experience in a Senior Human Resources role showing growth and increase of responsibilities
  • University Degree in Human Resources, Labour Relations, or Employment Law, Master degree preferred
  • CHRP/CHRL designation
  • Strong management experience specifically in employee and labour relations in a growing and changing manufacturing environment
  • Experience in a non-union and union manufacturing environment
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor managers and associates
  • Experience working in an international company is preferred
  • Experience and knowledge of a matrix based organization is preferred
  • Possess an adaptive work style, have high energy and be action oriented
