Unqualified occasional teachers are offered work on an ‘as needed’ basis in our elementary schools, on short notice, when permanent teachers are absent from work. Successful candidates will only be offered work when no qualified occasional teachers are available. It is our expectation that unqualified occasional teachers will have regular availability to accept assignments in some or all Grand Erie elementary schools. The Board spans a geographic area encompassing the City of Brantford and the Counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk.
Interested applicants must have:
- successfully completed or are working towards completion of post-secondary education
- a minimum of 6 months working with children
- ability to accept assignments with same day notice
Applications should include a cover letter, a complete resume of experience, and the names of three professional references that can be contacted.
Daily rate of pay approximately $213.68 per day + vacation pay.
Effective Date: as soon as can be mutually arranged to June 30, 2023 for a maximum of 10 days.
Applicants with a disability that requires an accommodation to enable their participation in the interview process should advise the Board when contacted for an interview. Any assessment and selection materials and processes used in the interview process can be made available in an accessible format, upon request in advance.
All new employees are required to submit an original Police Record Check (which includes a vulnerable sector search) acceptable to the Board prior to the commencement of employment.
We thank all applicants for their interest but only those considered for an interview will be contacted.
