Job Description
Mold Designer
Due to growth, our Windsor based client is seeking a Mold Designer to join their expanding design group. This is a full time position with a growing company with a great company culture. Client base includes both automotive and non-automotive accounts and they are well positioned for the future. Below is a summary of responsibilities:
Description:
- Develops pre-design from information provided by the customer, and may be required to develop a number of concepts to achieve a final design direction.
- Investigates and procures all data required to develop designs, and uses best combination of preliminary information and contributing data to develop final designs.
- Develops complete design, which includes layouts with background information, detail drawings, and geometric dimensioning and tolerancing in accordance with customer and technical requirements.
- Makes changes to current product as directed.
- Prepares all sketches and/or schematic diagrams.
- Transfers data per company process, and keeps the part file folder up to date.
- Develops and conducts any specific feasibility studies needed to address particular issues.
- Ensures the integrity of all design information communicated on assigned programs.
- Diploma or degree in related field
- Minimum 3-5 years solid modelling experience
- Unigraphics experience preferred but open to other software packages as well
- GDT (geometric Dimensioning and tolerancing)
- Experience using MS Word, Excel & Powerpoint
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- 3D Design
