Project Manager – Automation
Our client is one of the world's leading manufacturers of efficient automation solutions in the areas of automotive, mechanical engineering and general industry. We are recruiting for a Project Manager that is responsible for all elements and phases of automation projects including problem solving, conflict resolution, schedule adherence, cost tracking, change orders, documentation and customer liaison. In this leadership role, the Project Manager will work with highly skilled mechanical, electrical and service professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget to the highest levels of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:

We are recruiting for a Project Manager that is responsible for all elements and phases of automation projects including problem solving, conflict resolution, schedule adherence, cost tracking, change orders, documentation and customer liaison. In this leadership role, the Project Manager will work with highly skilled mechanical, electrical and service professionals to ensure that projects are completed on time and on budget to the highest levels of safety and quality.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate, manage and deliver projects from design, build, install and through project completion.
- Creation and management of project schedules.
- Act as the primary customer interface.
- Work closely with the Design Team to provide engineered solutions that satisfy customer and technical requirements of the project.
- Facilitate adherence to budgets by each of the project disciplines; provide regular performance update reports to management and work with corporate engineering team.
- Financial responsibility on combined projects up to $4 million.
- Managing the clients expectations and communicating needs to the project team.
- Managing scope internally (with the project team) and externally (with the client).
- Ensure harmonious working relationships with key partners, identify risks and road blocks to the successful completion of the project and work with management to resolve.
- Travel to customer sites will be required to conduct project meetings and during project start-up and commissioning (10-15%).
- Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred. A technology or technologist diploma will be considered in light of relevant experience.
- Excellent problem solving and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organization, communication, and customer relations skills.
- Minimum of 3-5 years project management experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a team based project environment.
- Relevant CAD experience (AutoCAD and Solidworks)
- Proven Mechanical/Automation design experience.
- Microsoft Project, MS-Office (including Word and Excel)
