Job Description
SE Freight Systems Inc. is currently seeking a Fleet Supervisor to join our team in the Windsor market as we are expanding our footprint in this area.
We are a logistics company that has been in the transportation industry for over 19 years supporting the automotive sector.
Fleet Supervisor
The main focus of this role is to manage drivers, owner operators/brokers and oversee our equipment – trucks and trailers in the Windsor yard to ensure we meet our operational goals and customer service requirements.
Job Responsibilities include:
Working with central dispatch to dispatch drivers to runs, update drivers on new route information and customer requirements, handling coverage issues, manage all driver issues/concerns in your market and escalating issues as required to the Operations Manager
Responsible for maintenance repair requests investigations and follow ups
Responsible for getting equipment back up and running in the most efficient and cost effective manner
Responsible for enforcing policies and processes setting clear guidelines with drivers, dispatch and company
Identifying reoccurring problems with units and developing solutions
Responsible for handling haul breakdown issues partnering with dispatch and service vendors
Assists with driver correspondence and field calls from drivers
Responsible for assisting with vehicle and trailer license renewals, inspections
Completing daily yard checks – truck and trailer updates, odometer readings, visual safety check of our equipment, ensuring yard is plowed and maintained,
Conducting driver road tests and supporting with driver orientation runs
Requirements:
Minimum of 3 years of fleet experience- strong mechanical aptitude
AZ license with minimum of 3 years of driving experience – FAST card is an asset
Strong understanding of MTO rules and regulations
Ability to communicate with various groups - drivers, dispatchers, management and vendors
Ability to conduct performance conversations with drivers and ensure proper documentation is in place
Excellent time management, organizational and multi-tasking skills
Intermediate Computer skills - Word, Excel and Outlook required
