Job Description

Our client is looking for a full time Territory Sales Representative for the Ontario and surrounding region.

As a member of our client’s team, the successful candidate will be responsible for achieving annual objectives within the respective sales territory.  You will be responsible for not only managing current accounts but seek out new clients. Person should be enthusiastic and positive, personable, and a good communicator. Applicant must be able to work by themselves and be a self-motivator. We specialize in the horticultural market with an emphasis on vegetable crops. Our products will assist farmers with growing techniques and enable them to grow the best crop possible.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Create demand for our products through activities directed at increased awareness of the products and planned expansion of a customer base.
  • Provide assistance to end users in prescribing the best suited solutions with clear focus on growers’ success with our products. Effectively and proactively manage customer service calls and/or complaints. High retention rates and increased loyalty are your objectives.
  • Understand market trends, competitive products, programs and pricing structures. Provide ongoing feedback to management.
  •  Communicate regularly with the customers, keeping them abreast of new products, product advancements, promotions, feedback from other customers. 
  • Develop and implement an annual territory plan supporting key job responsibilities, reflecting territory needs, utilizing available resources and align with strategic initiatives.
  •  Support key business processes such as sales forecasting, product stewardship, performance inquiries, product knowledge, marketing programs reconciliation, expense and territory reporting. 
  • Work safely and abide by our client’s safe driving standards and core values.
Education:
Diploma in Agriculture or Horticulture
Knowledge in Irrigation systems is an asset
Knowledge of farm machinery is an asset

Skills / Experience:
  • 3–5 years of agricultural or sales related experience with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively and influence targeted audience.
  • Comfortable with risk; accepts individual responsibility and accountability.
  • Creative thinker, innovator and problem solver.
  • Demonstrated leadership and teamwork.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office programs.
  • Valid driver’s license and a safe driving record.
