Job Description
As a result of planned expansion and international growth, StarTech.com is currently looking for Category Manager to join our Vendor Management team at our Corporate Office in London, Ontario.
Reporting to the Manager, Vendor Management the Category Manager makes an impact by developing sourcing strategies, managing supplier relationships (including ongoing supplier performance), and coordinating efforts between internal stakeholders and supplier account teams to support StarTech.com corporate objectives. What You Will Gain
- Experience creating and establishing negotiation strategies and practices, especially with Asian based suppliers
- Knowledge and experience relating to the computer accessory business and all related products
- A solid understanding of Strategic sourcing concepts and best practices, related to the procurement of Technology products and services
- The opportunity to strengthen your Strategic Vendor Management subject-matter expertise
- Occasional domestic and international travel
What You Can Show Us
- 5+ years’ experience in a related role (e.g. Vendor Manager, Vendor Relationship Manager, Supply Chain Professional, Supply Chain Management Professional, Commodity Manager)
- Strong business and financial acumen – including experience in risk mitigation, skilled negotiations and issue/dispute resolution
- Experience in management of long-term vendor relationships including providing feedback on performance metrics and deliverables
- Procurement experience in competitive bidding processes
