AUTOMOBILE & RESIDENTIAL UNDERWRITER
Usborne and Hibbert Mutual Fire Insurance Company is seeking applications for the permanent full-time position of an experienced Automobile & Residential Underwriter. This opportunity will appeal to a motivated, cooperative individual who is committed to working in a dynamic atmosphere.
Position Responsibilities:
- Assess and evaluate risks including new business, renewals and endorsements
- Apply technical knowledge and experience to underwrite, rate and document policy files
- Respond to queries from agents and brokers in a timely manner
- Evaluate and assess information for pricing, claims information, inspection reports
Education/Work Experience:
- Post-secondary education or equivalent insurance experience
- CIP designation complete or in progress is preferred
- Previous underwriting experience of 4 or more years
Key Competencies:
- Excellent problem-solving and decision making abilities
- Sound personal lines technical knowledge
- Proven track record of high quality customer service and broker/agent management skills
- Highly motivated and able to work as a team player, or independently
