Lucas Professional Search Group is currently recruiting for a Buyer for a large scale manufacturing and production facility in Windsor, ON.  The Junior Buyer will report to the Lead Buyer Planner and will be responsible for negotiating and sourcing suppliers, assisting in the purchase of incoming raw materials and supplies into the facility.
 
Responsibilities:
 

• Responsible for purchasing raw materials and supplies for use in the production facility
• Ensure prompt, accurate entry and confirmation of purchase orders  Ensure order and supply levels are properly maintained for all required materials in order to maintain inventory levels within control zone
• Maintain tracking of expected deliveries in order to forecast inventory levels and react by expediting or de-expediting deliveries as required
• Ensure SAP ERP system is up to date and reflects current delivery and quantity releases
• SAP advanced skill set – inventory management
• Execute and support material changeovers as required
• Support quality team by providing information as required
• Support logistics team by providing information as required
• Other Duties will be assigned as required by supervisor and may vary depending on employee experience as well as production seasonality

 
Qualifications:
 

• Post-secondary degree or diploma in a technical area of relevancy or equivalent experience is an asset
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and SAP
• 1 to 3 years’ experience in purchasing/supplier management role
• Experience with inventory management and purchasing systems
• Experience in managing supplier deliveries and invoice reconciliations
• Experience in managing quality issues and vendor returns
• Experience in cost negotiation
