Job Description
We are currently recruiting to fill a Service Engineer role in the Leamington, ON area. The Service Engineer will be responsible for maximizing direct profit contribution and sales volume of existing and new customers. Maximize customers satisfaction and improve company image and products. Minimize downtime by carrying out service assignments and repairs as soon as possible. Reduce internal and external costs of failures by carrying out installation work, commissioning maintenance and repair tasks properly within one visit. The salary for this role is $60,000/yr.
The responsibilities for this Service Engineer role include:
- Test, inspect and commission climate computers, software, networks, water equipment and other products
- Install, configure and commission labour registration systems and software updates based on customer demands
- Provide a first user instruction on the operations and application of the customer's products
- Provide appropriate technical advice to customers regarding preventive maintenance
- Carry out preventative and condition-based maintenance based on the work order
- Keep abreast of malfunction administration and modifications made in the customer's system
- Identify opportunities and possible additional work while carrying out maintenance work
- Generate commercial leads to the sales office and sales manager
- Friendly, rapid and adequate customer assistance about questions regarding service and maintenance
- Rapid and adequate response and telephone support for customers to ensure and optimize the proper operation of the products
- Resolve help desk questions independently by logging into the customer's system and guide the customer along while doing so
- Convey specialized questions and identified problems to the Technical Sales and/or Service Engineer
- Accurate, complete and timely registration of incidents and hours spent in the ERP system in accordance with the application procedures
- Accept malfunction messages, make a diagnosis and analyze causes and translate into activities to be carried out and required parts
- Initiate the proper action in order to remedy the customer's malfunction as soon as possible
- Quality resolving of technical malfunctions within the timeframe acceptable by the customer
- Complete and accurate reporting to customer regarding the cause and actions carried out
- Convey malfunctions to Customer Service Manager should coordination be necessary between different disciplines
- Provide feedback to relevant internal department about cause, effect, corrective and preventative measures
- Order and supply necessary parts in case of insufficient stock
- Register use of service parts and manage the physical stock
- Ensure accurate, complete and immediate recording of activities on the work order carried out at the customer's, registration of KMs driven, hours worked and parts used
- Explain registration to customer and ensure signature by customer
- Identify, obtain approval and register additional work while carrying out maintenance and/or installation tasks
- Ensure order and cleanliness around the workplace
- Use personal protective equipment made available by the company
- Check incoming goods using the order and purchasing specifications
- Accurate, timely and complete registration of goods receipt within the ERP system
- Responsible for correct amounts of on the shelf stock
- Manage stock parts and pick items and initiate orders on time
- Accurate, timely and complete registration of stock accounts and movements within the warehouse
- Implement periodic stock inventories commissioned by the Customer Service Manager
- Pick, package and ship the required products per service order
- Check if numbers and specification products match the order
- Make sure that materials and products are packed clearly and identifiably
- Perform all further occurring expedition acts
- Load and unload transport vehicles
Qualifications:
- Minimum 5 years experience in the field of electro-technical plants, water equipment, process automation or measurement and control technology
- Practical general knowledge of automation, networking, software, etc.
- Team player with a high degree of independence
- Strong diagnostic and analytical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
