Position Type:                                  Hourly, Part-time, Two-Three (2-3) Days a Week

Description
Reporting directly to the President you manage a portfolio of broad functions with a focus on Purchasing. Using our MRP software you manage supplies, inventory levels and contractor services with effective purchasing and negotiating skills to achieve cost effectiveness maintenance of our operational requirements.
Your business experience and negotiation skills are most suited to an established, sophisticated, chemical manufacturing organization. At this stage in your career, you are at ease to join an established 4-person management team and yield results within a shortened (2-3 day) week.
Responsibilities:
  • Co-ordinate operational needs with Quality, Technical and Production Managers.
  • Manage relationships with key suppliers to maintain quality of goods, timely delivery and compliance to terms of contracts.
  • Oversee customer service, issue purchase orders and ensure deliveries, negotiate prices with approved vendors and update database.
  • Review and evaluate quotations.
  • Monitor raw material levels including annual and semi-annual product inventory.
  • Determine pricing and price lists.
  • Oversee shipping and receiving.
  • Provide role modelling and leadership.
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Minimum 3-year College or University Business education.
  • Minimum of 5-years of progressive administrative experience, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Demonstrable experience in negotiating prices, terms and conditions for raw materials and contracted services.
  • Ability to evaluate market conditions and different suppliers and delivery systems.
  • Proven proficiency in MS Office and MRP manufacturing software.
  • Experience with Transportation of Dangerous Goods, WHMIS Global Harmonization System and National Pollutant Release Inventory (NPRI).
  • Knowledge of Trans Boarder shipping requirements and Transportation Licensing.
  • ISO certification an asset.
