The Systems Coordinator defines, develops, tests, analyzes, and maintains new software applications in support of the achievement of business requirements including writing, coding, testing, and analyzing software programs and applications.  The incumbent will also research, design, document and modify software applications throughout the production life cycle and liaises between the Hospitals and Schulich for network and hardware issues.
 
The Department has a number of in-house database systems that are critical to day-to-day operations.  The Systems Coordinator will be responsible for maintaining and providing any needed development for these databases and providing user support as necessary.
 
Qualifications
Education:
-   University degree in Computer Science or a related field
 
Experience:
-   5 years' directly related database programming experience including experience interviewing end-users for insight on functionality, interface, problems, and/or usability ideas
-   Experience developing test cases and test plans
 
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
-   Proficiency in a variety of programming languages, including but not limited to: 
Microsoft Visual Studio Basic. Net, SQL/Access
-   Proven understanding of coding methods and best practices
-   Demonstrated relational database and operating systems experience with Microsoft SQL Server
-   Thorough understanding of platforms such as Microsoft Server
-   Solid working knowledge of current internet technologies, including ASP/ASP-X programming and HTML
-   Knowledge of applicable data privacy practices and laws
-   Demonstrated experience with numeracy
-   Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with technical and non-technical users
-   Flexible and adaptable in regards to learning and understanding new technologies
-   Strong written, oral and interpersonal communication skills
-   Ability to conduct research into software related issues and products
-   Self-driven, independent thinker who is highly motivated and possesses an intrinsic passion for quality
-   Strong attention to detail
-   Proven critical thinking, analytical and problem-solving abilities
-   Ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks in a high-pressure environment
-   Ability to work both independently and in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
-   Flexibility to work outside of regular business hours and travel on occasion
