Senior Quality Engineer
Our Windsor based manufacturing client is recruiting for a Senior Quality Engineer. This position is responsible for process documentation, completing quality deliverables, ensuring all process changes have proper documentation completed, and process/quality improvements. In addition, this individual will be responsible for answering technical questions.
 
Responsibilities:
  • Create and maintain quality standards for all new and existing products.
  • Regularly review these standards against customer feedback and inspector findings, making changes/improvements as necessary.
  • Create Process Flow, Control Plans, PFMEA, APQP, PPAP and Standard Operating Procedures.
  • Devise sampling procedures and designs and develops forms and instructions for recording, evaluating, and reporting quality and reliability data.
  • Be actively and productively involved in cross-functional roles as a representative of Manufacturing and Quality functions.
  • Lead and participate in activities focused on addressing major technical quality problems.
  • The individual will be hands-on, assertive and motivated to ensure the company meets its aggressive goals.
  • Have a passion for excellence in people, processes and analytics
Requirements:
  • A minimum of 5-10 years of experience in a quality role or management of a quality program
  • Must have clearly demonstrated problem solving skills as well as good written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)
  • Knowledge in Statistical analysis techniques, ergonomics and process flow, GD&T
  • Structured Root-Cause Problem Solving (RCPS) techniques and apply them regularly, documenting the results and following up on execution and effectiveness
  • Previous ISO 9000, QS and TS 16949 registration experience A MUST
  • Ability to generate Quality documents, manuals, procedures, instructions, etc.
  • Ability to work independently, with minimal supervising
  • Ability to monitor supplier practices and procedures – TS16949 internal Lead audit experience a must
  • Self-motivated, high energy level individual
  • Hands on with shop floor experience and daily interaction with production employees (50% on the floor)
  • Lean Manufacturing background
  • Experience with Metallurgy will be an asset and preferential consideration
