Description

 

North American Stamping Group consist of six stamping facilities in Canada, the USA and Mexico. We are a tier 2 metal stamper and assembler. Our Canadian location located in Woodstock, Ontario is currently recruiting to fill the following position:

 

Welding Engineering Group Leader

 

Reporting to the Operations Manager, will be a hand's on individual overseeing and working with welding technicians to trouble shoot and eliminate mig and resistance welding issues, to standardize welding processes and oversee new cell builds as required.

 

General duties

·       Analyze mig and resistance welding defects to determine root cause and implement corrective  / preventative actions.

·       Lead, and prioritize workload of welding technicians.

·       Work with Welding Associate Involvement teams to address equipment issues to reduce down time.

·       Review cell cycle times and improve processes to increase through put.

·       Develop documented processes to insure consistency in mig and resistance welding applications.

·       Assist in process development as it relates to welding and automation for new products.

·       Oversee new mig welding, resistance welding and automation cell builds as required.

·       Manage inventory of weld equipment supplies.

·         Other duties as assigned.

 

 

Qualifications:

The ideal candidates will posses the following qualifications:

·       Welding Engineering Technicians diploma or equivalent welding experience.

·         Strong knowledge and experience with mig and resistance welding technology, theory, practices & principles.

·         Excellent knowledge of Robotics, PLC Programming and automation.

·         3 to 5 years leadership experience.

·         Proficient in utilizing MS Office.
