Interact Direct is seeking the services of a Senior Systems Admin Specialist with extensive Linux and Windows network planning, optimization and monitoring expertise.  This is a part-time, short-term contract position that's ideally suited to freelance contractor.

The goal for this position is design, plan and implement best-practice procedures and monitoring for Interact Direct's network and data center operations and then to train a full-time I.T. employee to maintain and administer its ongoing operations.  The ideal candidate will have an ongoing ability to provide support services, although this is not a requirement.

Duties will include:

• Review existing systems, procedures and documentation through onsite meetings to gain a clear understanding of the current situation.
• Meet with management to understand future business plans and the impact of those plans on the company's network and data center requirements. 
• Prepare and present a plan for how the network and data center can be better organized to fulfill security, reliability and performance expectations.
• Manage and oversee the implementation of an approved plan including the acquisition and installation of necessary hardware, software and services.
  
• Create documentation and operational procedures.  
  
• Train an administrative employee to support the day-to-day system administration.
  

Competencies:

• Experience with end-to-end responsibility for IT Operations in mid-sized companies.
• Senior-level technical skills in system design, administration, networking, security, and storage on both Linux and Windows platforms.
  
• Excellent communication and organization skills.
• A structured, analytical thinker with high personal standards for accuracy.
