The North American Stamping Group consist of six stamping facilities in Canada, the USA and Mexico. We are an automotive tier 2 metal stamper, welder and assembler. Our facility located in Woodstock Ontario is currently recruiting to fill the following position:
Group Leader Shipping & Receiving
Reporting to the Materials Manager, this position supports, coaches and leads a team of Shipping and Receiving Associates employed within the materials value stream . The primary objective is to meet safety & and on time delivery Targets while encouraging participation in Continuous Improvement activities..
General duties
· Provide leadership, assign tasks, and administer company policies with respect to shipping/receiving associates to meet targets.
· Manage on time delivery to meet customer expectations
· Oversee and schedule logistics of customer product and internal supplies.
· Oversee and organize container requirements to meet the production schedule.
· Oversee outside processer inventory to meet customer order requirements.
· Assist with customer phone calls.
· Ensure Associate Team Members as fully trained and comply with Safe Work Policies and Procedures
· Foster positive associate relations through open communication, which promotes buy-in, teamwork.
· Facilitate Team Meetings: Improvement of safety, productivity, quality, ergonomics, etc. (Kaizen).
· Manage weekend “on call” coverage.
· Conduct Shift Start-up Team Meetings to ensure shift to shift communication.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications:
· The ideal candidate will posses the following qualifications:
· Post secondary education in Materials Management and /or 5 years relative leadership experience in a logistics/warehousing/manufacturing role with an automotive parts producer
· Grade 12 graduation diploma
· Must hold a valid First aid & CPR certificate or be willing to attain one within probationary period.
· Qualified Lift truck operator.
· Qualified overhead crane operator
· Must have the ability to work additional hours and weekends as required, sometimes on short notice.
· Good computer skills with knowledge of MS office
· Strong team building and coaching skills.
· Strong organizational skills.
