Human Resources Assistant

Grand Erie District School Board represents more than 28,000 students in 58 elementary schools and 14 secondary schools within the City of Brantford and the counties of Brant, Haldimand and Norfolk, as well as students from Six Nations of the Grand River First Nation and Mississaugas of the Credit First Nation. With a dedicated staff of more than 2,900, Grand Erie is committed to learning, leading and inspiring. The Board is currently seeking a Full-time Human Resources Assistant to join our team.
Responsibilities:
Supporting the Coordinator of Human Resources, the role of Human Resources Assistant will encompass all facets of human resources including salary administration, leaves of absence, maintenance of HRIS, job postings, orientation of new staff, and responding to inquiries. The Human Resources Assistant will also provide backup support for the automated dispatch system.
Qualifications:

Secondary school graduation diploma, supported with a relevant community college diploma;
Minimum three (3) years related experience in an equivalent role;
Completion of or working towards a Certified Human Resources Leader (CHRL) designation would be an asset;
Strong customer service focus with an equally strong work ethic with the ability to prioritize and meet deadlines;
Excellent organizational, and superior interpersonal and communication skills are combined with the need for attention to detail and accuracy;
Ability to handle confidential information with tact and discretion;
Demonstrated ability to excel in a team environment but also self-directed and can work independently with minimum supervision;
Demonstrated competency with use of computers and a variety of software applications including HRIS.

Job Specifications
Hours of Work	7 hours per day/35 hours per week
Rate of Pay	Hiring Range $66,247 to $73,022 Salary Range $66,247 to $75,282 A competitive benefits plan is available through a provincial benefits trust plan (extended health, dental, life insurance, AD&D).
