SALARY RANGE:
$93,116 - $123,142 (Subject to Review)

POSITION SUMMARY:
Reporting to the Manager of Operations, the Senior Supervisor, Facility Services supervises and leads a team of Operations Supervisors on Days, Afternoons, and Midnight shifts in Facility Services, coordinates, develops, and implements standardized practices and procedures for the effective management of 650-plus Custodial staff across 170 + facilities and grounds, and is responsible for the appropriate allocation and expenditures of an extensive supplies and services budget.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Direct and supervise Operations Supervisors and provide training and advice in the effective supervision of custodial staff.
Lead the continuous improvement, implementation and oversight of an effective, efficient and standardized staff replacement program for permanent and temporary staff.
Provide leadership and oversight for personnel practices related to the supervision of custodial staff, including recruitment, selection, labour relations, employee performance, attendance management and collective bargaining administration.
Provide oversight to ensure grievance processes and responses are consistent, timely, compliant with collective agreements and aligned with established protocols.
Identify needs and develop, implement and assess training and staff development opportunities for custodial staff and Leaders.
Establish and implement district-wide, standardized work methods, processes, procedures, performance measures and standards.
Provide technical support and advice to Leaders and senior department staff.
Provide operational leadership, strategic advice and technical expertise to Leaders and senior department staff to support informed decision-making.
Coordinate, direct, and monitor external agencies and vendors for various request for proposals (RFP) and tenders.
Contribute advice and recommendations as a member of administrative team within Facility Services.
Monitor and administer supplies and services budget.
Approve expenditures made by Leaders.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
Completion of two (2) years post-secondary education in business administration or a related field or equivalent
Five years related work experience in facility construction, maintenance or operations including experience in a management or supervisory capacity is required
