YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Employees and volunteers of YMCA of Southwestern Ontario are ambassadors for the Y both on and off the job. Position: YMAP Facilitator_ PT temporary_ up to 20 hours/week Monday to Thursday_ until March 31, 2026
Location: Windsor Learning Center_ 300 Ouellette Ave. Windsor, ON N9A 7B4
Start Date: September 2, 2025
End Date: March 31, 2026
Salary: $18.58 per hr.

In this role, you will:
• Determine eligibility for the program and other settlement needs such as transportation and community referrals
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Respond to first aid and emergency situations
• Report all incidents according to Y policies
• Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in preparing and executing weekly sessions under the guidance of the Program Lead.
• Refers newcomer youth to appropriate internal and external programs and resources, such as settlement, integration, and orientation services, employment, education, health care, legal, and recreation opportunities
• Promote and maintain daily a safe and clean program environment with the task of a monthly deep level of the YMAP space
• Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings with the Settlement Newcomer Services Manager, and YMAP team
• Ensure log-in and out on Dayforce are complete in a timely and accurate manner
• Complete administration tasks when required such as contributing to funder reports
• Assists with the exploration, research, and development of sessions and programs that address identified youth needs
• Assist in creating yearly action plans, curriculum, and monthly program calendars with the program Lead to achieve CA targets.
• Ensure waivers are given to the youth every time there is a field trip or activity that requires one
• Work closely with the Program Lead for the facilitation of sessions
• Attend community and YMCA meetings and events when required.
Education & Skills Qualifications:
• Post-secondary school diploma in a related Human Services, immigration field, Child and Youth, Sport and Recreation, or Education discipline is preferred
• Good communication and leadership skills
• Experience dealing with newcomer youth; exhibit understanding and sensitivity to challenges facing newcomer youth
• Current CPR Level C, Standard First Aid & AED
• Flexible schedule
• Additional language as an asset
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiar with using a database
• Experience working with diverse populations
• Confident and Comfortable with effective communication in group situations
• Must provide a current Criminal Record Check as per the Association’s policy
