Continental Tool & Die have multiple CNC machines which are Haas, Fadal, Pinnacle, Monfort, Awea, Takumi, and Dahliah. The average shift length for an Machine Assistant is 10 hours. Assistants can be on their feet or sitting for the entire length of their shift. Their job involves continuous collection, stacking and arrangement of metal parts. It requires continuous reaching at, above and below shoulders. Frequently they must crouch, twist or turn. This job requires continuous repetitive motion. This position requires the assistant to focus on the running pace of the machine as well as the workflow of their operator. The job sometimes requires the lifting of steel blocks (weighing up to20lbs). The successful candidate’s containers are loaded into boxes; a full box may weigh up to 60 lbs. depending on the cardstock

The CNC Machine Operator and Operator Assistants are responsible for running and assisting in the running of the CNC machines. More precisely, the incumbent:

• Perform repetitive tasks with dexterity and accuracy to assist Machine Operators
• Accurately perform all required quality checks to ensure products meet specifications, and report all quality concerns immediately.
• Consistently comply with all required work procedures relating to the machine, verification, quality, packaging and pack-out processes.
• Prepare packages, boxes and/or skids for shipping in a manner which gives an excellent presentation and ensures a high quality end product
• Comply with all company safety rules and policies
• Accept direction willingly from supervisors, management and peers to improve quality and performance.
• Complete production paperwork accurately, as required.
• Maintain a clean and safe working environment.
• Work effectively as a team player with peers and other departments to improve quality and performance.
• Be willing to be cross-trained in other departments and on other equipment.
• Once trained, demonstrate the ability to run finishing machinery in the machine operator’s absence.

Requirements

• Minimum 2 years of CNC Operating experience
• Minimum 1 year of experience in a Tool & Mold shop
• At least 1 year of programming experience
• Experience in the Automotive industry is preferred
• OSSD or equivalency is mandatory
