Job Description

Coco Developments, a division of Coco Group, has an opportunity available for a residential construction Project Manager to oversee its construction developments located in Windsor, Ontario. 

The ideal candidate is experienced in all facets of new home construction and is responsible for making sure that each development project runs smoothly including; keeping track of each development’s progress, being organized, and familiar with each stage of the new home construction process as well as ensuring that projects are completed on time and within budget.

What’s involved?

This position is expected to take a leadership role during all phases of the new home construction process. 
 
Duties include but are not limited to the following:
  • Overseeing construction personnel assigned to sites
  • Creating and monitoring construction schedule to ensure closings are met
  • Liaise with head office on material pricing
  • Ordering materials as required (lumber loads, beams, masonry, etc.) by schedule
  • Coordinating the procurement of required machinery and labour forces
  • Quality control of projects and sites
  • Dealing with trades, including scheduling and procuring trades as required
  • Booking inspections (footing/foundation/sewer/framing, etc.) and ensuring personnel is on site for inspection; Following up with trades on inspection deficiencies
  • Booking gas services and meters with Aecon/Union Gas
  • Overseeing Health and Safety issues
  • Dealing with Ministry of Labour inquiries as required
  • Ensuring safe site working conditions, adherence to Company safety standards and advisories
  • Maintaining collaborative working relationship with all employees, trades, suppliers and customers
What’s required?
 
  • Must have detailed knowledge of residential construction practices
  • Must have up to date Ontario Building Code knowledge
  • Must have ability to juggle multiple builds and multiple sites
  • Must have excellent communication skills
  • Computer literate including Word and Excel
  • Solid leadership skills
  • Effective cost management and work planning skills
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with multiple priorities
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills
  • Troubleshooting, problem solving and organizational skills
  • Effective cost management and work planning skills 
What’s nice to have?
 
  • Experience as a tradesperson or skilled labourer on residential construction projects
