About the Opportunity

Contract Glaziers is seeking an experienced operations manager to join their team in the challenging role of Director of Field Operations in Windsor, Ontario.

In this key role, you will be responsible for the strategic direction and leadership for the overall construction field operations, which includes staff, consultants, and tradespeople.

Specifically, you will be accountable for:

• Establishing the overall vision and direction for the implementation of field operations as an independent business unit;
• Developing and implementing new business strategies for creating or improving processes and procedures to improve overall field operations performance;
• Meeting regularly with department heads;
• Facilitating the resolution of issues/problems between business units and/or departments;
• Developing and implementing appropriate KPIs for field operations;
• Enhancing and developing policies, procedures and systems to meet the goals of the department;
• Liaising with the client, union and human resources;
• Providing timely scheduling, coordination and effective cost control pertaining to labour, equipment, and materials on individual projects;
• Ensuring the implementation of Contract Glaziers' safety program to create a safe work environment on the job site and adhering to all safety and record keeping requirements; and
• Ensuring that all reporting employees adhere to company policies and procedures. 

As our ideal candidate, you have a post-secondary degree/diploma in a technical field or business administration along with 5-10 years of management experience managing large operations.

We are looking for an effective leader with a strong focus on operations and business processes who is able to schedule, monitor and forecast resources for optimum efficiency and identify key issues to creatively and strategically develop solutions.

As this is a key senior leadership role, your diplomacy, solid negotiation and conflict resolution skills and ability to manage others, and the many facets of the construction project while assuming responsibility, are critical.

You will be well-suited to this role if you have proven sound analytical thinking and strong planning, organizational, prioritization and execution skills.
