Salary:                                    $50,596 (Starting) to $ $73,854 (at 30 months)

Hybrid Remote Options:
The LPS is currently operating under a Pilot Remote Work Procedure. This position may be eligible for a hybrid work arrangement following successful completion of training.

Position Summary:      
Working within the Human Resources Division, the Human Resources Coordinator is responsible for day-to-day office administration, responding to inquiries from employees and members of the public, completing HR documentation, and supporting the Senior Director, Human Resources Division with HR tasks and projects.

Responsibilities
  • Respond to inquiries from employees and members of the public pertaining to the London Police Service (LPS)’ Human Resources Division and direct inquiries to the appropriate personnel if required.
  • Review, track, and process all WSIB and injury FYI notices.
  • Create all submissions to WSIB for claims and maintain updates during claim life.
  • Liaise with Return-to-Work Coordinator for employee records and accommodation placement tracking.
  • Receive, track, and save all Performance Management Appraisals.
  • Set up new employees in LPS’ Record Management System (RMS) and track and process employee movements including temporary assignments, leaves of absences, promotions, retirements, and resignations.
  • Coordinate the Onboarding process for new employees.
  • Create Security Access Cards, Warrant Cards, and Civilian Cards.
  • Maintain the LPS’ Security Access system for each employee by granting and removing access to secure areas as requested.
  • Collect, record, and submit fees for lost security access cards.
  • Draft monthly HR reports for the London Police Services Board (LPSB).
  • Draft civilian Job Postings, post to job boards, and process incoming applications.
  • Process applications for the Educational Reimbursement Program, and track and balance funds to be submitted for reimbursement.
  • Track and balance HR Credit Card for month end to submit to the Finance department for payment.
  • Process incoming inter-office and external mail for the Human Resources Division.
  • Complete and submit Special Constable application paperwork to the Ministry of the Solicitor General.
  • Other duties as assigned within the core competencies.
Requirements
  • 2 year post-secondary Diploma in a related field, with education/course work in Human Resources Management or equivalent.
  • Working towards CHRP Designation.
  • 2-3 years’ relevant experience.
  • Problem solving skills and judgement required for problems, situations and responsibilities that are covered by standards, precedents, and procedures and the routine recording of data.
  • Strong communication skills for regular contact with LPS members and members of the public to give, obtain and/or exchange routine information or decisions requiring general discussion, and explanation to ensure understanding.
