  • Automotive Plastics and Injection Molding experience.

THE COMPANY:

Our client is offering an excellent opportunity within their organization.  They are seeking an experienced Plant Manager – Automotive Plastics.  Our client has been providing global quality tooling solutions for plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers since 1972.  The Automotive Components Division is a full service supplier of interior and exterior injection molded plastic components and assemblies, providing innovative solutions for automotive plastics applications to original equipment manufacturers and their suppliers.

Focused on engineering and technology driven solutions, our full service capabilities range from product design and development services, with the capability of injection molding to 3500 tons.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:

The Plant Manager will have overall accountability for production and business results for the facility.  Involves employees in continuous improvement activities and projects and ensures adherence to quality and operating systems.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act in compliance with the company Health & Safety policies and procedures including any applicable legislation.
  • Notify the appropriate personnel of any situation or condition that may contribute to product or process non-conformity.
  • Comply with the Environmental Policy and contribute to its goals and objectives accordingly.
  • Reviews and adjusts production schedules in order to maintain an inventory of raw materials and finished inventory.
  • Develops and implements plans to efficiently use materials, labour and equipment to meet production targets.
  • Hires, supervises and trains or oversees training of employees in the use of new equipment or production techniques.
  • Provides direction, leadership and motivation to the managers and employees of the facility.
  • Accountable for driving continuous improvement in cost, quality, and on-time delivery through planning, organizing, and scheduling work assignments with the team and engaging support groups using Lean Manufacturing techniques.
  • Supervise, mentor and coach the management team to improve quality and total production output.

  • Engineering or Business Degree required with 5-10 years’ Supervisory/Management experience.
