SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Director, Development, the Relationship Manager (Advancement) will play an integral role in achieving fundraising goals, maximizing donor engagement, and advancing Huron University's mission of academic excellence and community impact. Specifically, the Relationship Manager (Advancement) will collaborate closely with the Advancement team to execute major gift fundraising solicitations.

With a strong focus on donor relationship management, the Relationship Manager (Advancement) will actively manage a portfolio of prospects through identifying, cultivating, soliciting and with personalized outreach initiatives to foster authentic relationships with potential and current donors, capable of making significant contributions to advance the institution's mission. The Relationship Manager (Advancement) will also cultivate & maintain strong internal relationships with University partners including faculty, and those in areas such as Recruitment, Admissions, Finance, and Communications in order to advance donor relationships & strategies. Additionally, this role will be responsible for providing timely reporting and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations to support efficient fundraising efforts.
 

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completed post secondary education; 
  • 2-5 years of experience in a relevant field;
  • Understanding of University-level education and the philanthropic environment in Ontario, Canada, and internationally, preferred;
  • A well-defined sense of diplomacy, including solid negotiation, conflict resolution and people management skills;
  • Possess a reputation for resourcefulness with a strong sense of accountability and initiative;
  • Advanced emotional intelligence, including self-awareness, self-regulation, empathy, and adept social skills, to ensure a healthy work-life balance and strong collegial relationships are maintained;
  • Strong communication skills, verbally and written with a proven ability to understand and effectively convey key aspects of complex subjects;
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically, work proactively, and manage competing priorities;
  • A demonstrated commitment to ongoing professional development, with a flexible, resourceful, creative and pro-active work style, encompassing a can-do, enthusiastic attitude;

Note: We are hiring for two (2) Relationship Manager (Advancement) positions. This role could be located in London or the Greater Toronto Area (GTA) with hybrid/remote working options. Routine travel for meetings and events, with overnight travel as required.
