YMCA of Southwestern Ontario was founded in 1856 and has over 200 locations from Goderich to Point Pelee, and Windsor to Woodstock. We are one of the largest not-for-profit providers of licensed child care in Canada and have over 100 school age programs across our regions. We also offer settlement services to newcomers, employment programs, mental health support, and youth programs. YMCA of Southwestern Ontario operates two overnight camps, one in Point Pelee National Park, and one on Beausoleil Island in Muskoka. We also have 15 Health & Fitness branches across Southwestern Ontario.

Position: Lead Facilitator, YMAP Program_ Monday to Thursday_Up to 25 hours/ week_ Temporary_ Until June 30, 2026
Location: Windsor Learning Center, 300 Ouellette Ave N9A 7B4
Start Date: September 2, 2025
End Date: March 31, 2026
Salary: $23.90 per hour

In this role:
• The Lead Facilitator will be responsible for screening and intake of group participants, delivering program sessions in line with the given YMAP targets and action plan, online or in-person, and giving leadership to the other YMAP Facilitators.
• The YMAP Lead Facilitator assists in the delivery of the YMAP-Newcomer Youth Leadership and Integration Program by, supporting during the facilitation of co-ed and gender-specific group programming, activities, workshops, and events both in the YMCA facilities and out in the community.
• The YMAP Lead Facilitator will provide a safe and engaging environment for all youth to gain valuable skills and knowledge to aid their successful integration and settlement in Canada.
• Demonstrate energy, enthusiasm, and dedication in preparing and executing weekly sessions
• Responsible for determiningeligibility for the program and other settlement needs such as transportation and internal and community referrals
• Assists with the exploration, research, and development of sessions and programs that address identified youth needs
• Responsible for the outreach of the program
• Assist in creating yearly action plans, curriculum, and monthly program calendars to achieve CA targets
• Make sure waivers are given to the youth every time there is an activity that requires one
• Responsible for following up with clients, maintaining attendance and clients' files secure and up to date
• Report program monthly data in K2
• Purchase materials supplies and refreshments for the program
• Perform regular checks and maintenance of program inventory (equipment and supplies)
• Report all incidents according to Y policies
• Maintain confidentiality in all matters
• Respond to first aid and emergencies
• Promote and maintain daily a safe and clean program environment with the task of a monthly deep level of the YMAP space
• Participate in regularly scheduled staff meetings with the program manager, and YMAP team
• Participate in YMCA or community meetings when required
• Follow health, and safety expectations, and have knowledge of emergency procedures and Child Protection Policy Work.
• Ensure log-in and out on Dayforce are complete in a timely manner
• Complete administration tasks when required such as contributing to funder reports
• Attend community and YMCA meetings and events when required
Other duties as assigned
Education & Skills Qualifications:
• Post-Secondary Education- College or University diploma in a related Human Services, immigration field, Counselling, or Education discipline is preferred
• More than two years of work experience with newcomers’ youth is an asset
• Good verbal and written communication
• Strong interpersonal, leadership, organizational and administrative skills
• Demonstrated understanding and sensitivity towards the challenges facing youth
• Self-motivated and able to work well independently and in a team environment
• Understanding and awareness of settlement issues and the concerns of newcomer youth
• Fluency in additional language in at least one common newcomer language (an asset)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiar with using a database
• Ensure clients’ files are secure and up to date
• Comfortable and effective communication in group situations
• Must provide a current Criminal Reference Check as per the Association’s policy
? Current CPR Level C, Standard First Aid & AED
? Must have own vehicle and possess a valid driver’s license (Preferrable)
